Bank cards can be useful to have multiples of if you would like everyone in your family to have some level of access to credit, in case of emergencies. Different cards have different options for multiple cardholders, however, and it can be useful to know what they can provide.
Bank cards like the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard allow for up to 3 additional cardholders for no extra fee. For a family of two adults and two children, this is ideal, allowing everyone to have easy access to emergency funds. You may wish to restrict the amount of credit available on this card if you are giving access to young dependents, however.
The Citibank Clear Card is more suitable for a slightly larger family, as it allows for up to 4 extra cardholders. There is a fee of $19 attached to this service, but it includes a lower purchase rate than the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard, which depending on your repayment schedule, may mean a greater saving for you overall.
